From Moonlight to Boundaries: Aligning with October’s Energy

October isn’t just another month on the calendar — it’s an energetic threshold. A turning of the wheel. A moment when the leaves begin to fall, the air sharpens, and our bodies start whispering: slow down, let go, come back to center.

This month is rich with cosmic medicine — especially if you’re someone who feels everything deeply, who carries more than they speak, who’s always holding it down for others but craving more space for yourself.

Let’s talk about how to work with the moon this month… and how to care for your energy like it’s sacred. Because it is.

The October Moon Cycle: A Sacred Map for Your Energy

The moon is always teaching us. Rising and falling. Waxing and waning. Expanding, releasing, resting, and beginning again.

October 6 — Full Moon in Aries (Harvest Supermoon)

This full moon is bold, fiery, and action-oriented. Aries doesn’t ask politely — it roars for release. This is a powerful time to cut cords with habits, obligations, or identities that no longer align. Think of it as an energetic clearing.

  • What to do: Burn something symbolic (safely). Write a list of “energetic leaks” — things draining you. Tear it up, burn it, release it. Let go with intention.

  • What to ask:

“Where am I ready to choose myself more boldly?”
“What’s taking up space in my life that no longer deserves it?”

🌑 October 17 — Lunar Eclipse in Libra

Eclipses are cosmic course correctors. They shake up what’s been ignored, especially around relationships, boundaries, and harmony. This eclipse might bring things to light — patterns, dynamics, even unspoken truths — all with the intention to bring you back into balance.

  • What to do: Rest. Reflect. Protect your energy fiercely. This isn’t the time to force clarity — it’s the time to be present with what’s rising.

  • What to ask:

“Where in my life have I been shrinking to maintain the peace?”
“What does true balance feel like in my body?”

Energy Hygiene: The Art of Protecting Your Sacred Field

Here’s the thing: working with the moon is powerful… but it’s not enough if you’re still energetically leaking everywhere. That’s where energy hygiene comes in — the practice of tending to your energetic body just like you would your physical one.

🧘🏽‍♀️ 1. Ground Every Morning

Before you reach for your phone, try this:

  • Close your eyes.

  • Feel your feet on the floor.

  • Inhale slowly through your nose…
Exhale through your mouth like a sigh.

  • Imagine roots growing from your feet into the earth.

Do this for just 1–2 minutes and feel how quickly your energy starts to settle.

🛁 2. Take a Release Bath or Shower

Water is medicine. It helps transmute stuck or heavy energy. Try this once a week in October:

  • Add a handful of Epsom salt or pink Himalayan salt to your bath or sprinkle it on your shower floor.

  • Add a drop of lavender or rosemary essential oil.

  • As you wash your body, say:

“I release what’s not mine. I return to myself.”

You’ll feel lighter — every single time.

✂️ 3. Cut Energetic Cords

Have you been thinking about someone all day? Feeling stuck in a conversation that ended hours ago? That’s energy attachment.

Cord cutting is not about erasing love — it’s about reclaiming your space.

  • Close your eyes and visualize a cord between you and the person/situation.

  • Imagine yourself gently cutting the cord with golden scissors or fire.

  • Say:

“I release this with love. I call my energy back home.”

Final Thoughts: The Moon Is a Mirror

October reminds us that healing isn’t always soft. Sometimes it burns. Sometimes it breaks open. Sometimes it demands that we release what we thought we had to hold onto.

But the moon? She always comes back. She always rebuilds. And so do you.

Let her phases be your permission slip:

  • To rise like Aries.

  • To rebalance like Libra.

  • To rest when it’s time.

  • To return to yourself — over and over again.

You don’t need to rush your becoming. You just need to honor your energy along the way.

Sacred Tools to Work With This Month:

  • Chakra Focus: Solar Plexus (boundaries, self-worth) + Heart (release, truth)

  • Crystals: Citrine, Black Tourmaline, Rose Quartz

  • Herbs/Scents: Rosemary, Lavender, Mugwort, Cedar

  • Affirmation:

“I am allowed to let go. I am safe to stand in my truth. I honor my energy.”

Ready to Deepen Your Practice?

Until next moon cycle, take exquisite care of your energy.
You are sacred. You are sovereign.
And this season is yours.
